Where Young Moms Are Seen, Supported and Empowered
Rise and Thrive began as a dream shaped by a simple, but powerful vision: to support young moms in our community who may feel overlooked or under-resourced. Alyssa’s personal experiences gave her a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by young moms raising children, inspiring her research and planning for the organization.
Today, Rise & Thrive has evolved from a single program into a vibrant community and recognized community organization. Young moms are welcomed and empowered to build friendships, access resources, and find support while the organization continues to grow sustainably through collaboration and local partnerships.
It has become a trusted support network where young moms can thrive and where the broader community can witness the impact of investing in their growth and well-being.

To empower and support young, at risk moms under the age of 25 with children ages 0-6 in North Perth by providing practical life skills, essential resources and a supportive community network.

Leading with Experience
A mom herself, our founder, Alyssa Fries became pregnant with her first son while attending college to become a Veterinary Technician. Living away from her family, she had to rely on local organizations to navigate pregnancy and early motherhood. Alyssa found meaningful support through the Vita Centre and their program “Supper Connection” in Mississauga, Ontario.
That experience made a lasting impact and inspired Alyssa to create a similar organization in North Perth addressing a critical service gap for young moms in her rural community.
Today, Alyssa is a proud mom of two boys, ages 11 and 4. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician by day and entrepreneur by night, leading Rise & Thrive with lived experience, compassion and purpose.
